The Potomac River Boathouse Foundation (PRBF) was created in 2014 for the purpose of preserving for the benefit of the public the PBC historic boat house, in accordance with the Secretary of the Interior’s Guidelines for Treatment of Historic Properties. The boat house is listed in the Local and National Register of Historic Places. The PRBF also supports efforts to preserve, beautify and maintain the scenic Potomac River shoreline and the historic Georgetown waterfront. Contributions to the PRBF are tax deductible. It is a 501 (c) (3) organization. It is also a volunteer operation to maximize the use of funds. Through a grant application process, the PRBF makes funds available in support of its mission. As the Foundation continues to partner with the Potomac Boat Club on key preservation projects, we hope we can rely on your continuing support and that you will help us leverage funding from Club members and other friends of the Potomac River shoreline.

The foundation committed funds to a project to restore the iconic riverside porch of the Potomac Boat House. The project was a great success, and the foundation, together with the Potomac Boat Club, received the 2017 District of Columbia Award for Excellence in Historic Preservation for Stewardship.
